Race Day Parking

Please carpool when possible.
The north and south parking lots at Kamiak High School, highlighted in green, will be available for your race day parking, however, you may have more success parking in the south lot as there is also a swim meet this morning and swim participants will be using the north parking lot.
Limited volunteer parking is available in the north parking lot at Columbia Elementary, highlighted in yellow. This lot will be closed during the race, so if you park here, plan to stay until the last racer crosses the finish line, which could be as late as 11:30am. If your volunteer duties are finished prior to 11:30 am and you wish to leave upon completion of your duties, you should park at Kamiak High School.

Attach your bib
Is this your first time running (or walking) in an organized race?
First, if you are with your family, make sure you're wearing the bib with the number assigned to you! Each number has been assigned to a specific person, and in our timing program, that number also falls within your age, gender and race category for division awards. Attach your bib using the safety pins provided in the four corners as shown in the picture at the left. The bib will have a finish tag (perforated strip at the bottom) that is folded when you first pull it out. Do not tear off the finish tag, and do not pin the finish tag to your shirt or shorts. As you cross the finish line, you will stay in the order you crossed, and our our volunteers will detach this tag at the to use as our back up to the timing program. |
Kid's Dash
Our youngest runners may not be ready for a full 5k distance. In this case, consider signing them up for the pre-race Kid's Dash. The dash will be 1 lap around the school at Columbia Elementary for a distance of about half a mile. Kid's Dash participants will receive a race bib and participant ribbon. T-shirts can be purchased if desired, but are not included in the $15 Kid's Dash registration price.
RAce Timing
Participant's finish times will be tracked using Webscorer. As a backup, we will be using the tear off strips located on the bottom of your race bib. Volunteers will help you to tear these off as you cross the finish. It is important to stay in the order you crossed over the finish line until your bib strip has been torn off and added to the hook by our volunteers.
T-shirts |
T-shirts not claimed prior to the start of the race will be forfeited.
There will be no t-shirt pick up after race day on October 6th. We want to maximize our donation to lung cancer research, so limited numbers and sizes are available for purchase for $15 at our packet pick up events and the day of the race. We can take cash, check or charge, but we prefer cash and check because it decreases our fees, and increases our research donation! |
The Lungman

Lungman will be out on the course during the race. You won't be able to miss him... just look for the bright pink oversized lungs. Lungman will start 10 minutes after the last 5k walkers leave the gate. If you can beat him across the finish line, you'll get a special bib tag to memorialize your achievement!
Restrictions
For insurance purposes bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers and strollers, roller skates or roller blades, animals, and personal music players are not allowed on the race course. Runners must be able to hear and follow directions along the course at all times.
